“Before our guests even step foot onto the resort, we are committed to creating a memorable stay”.
As the Turneffe Island Resort boat coasts slowly towards the island, the first thing guests see are the smiling faces of our on-island staff who are there to make their stay unforgettable. Among those smiling faces is Alain, one half of our dynamic duo of General Managers. Alain wears many hats but his focus is ensuring every guest, new or returning, has an enjoyable experience.
After living and working on four different continents, Alain has made Turneffe his home for nearly five years. If you ask him, some of the best times guests can experience on the island are spent spotting dolphins off the boat and going diving with small groups on a calm Belizean day.
Looking for a power-hitter to join your beach volleyball game? Alain loves playing volleyball with the guest and fellow staff members and recommends it as an excellent way to unwind. When he’s not manning the front desk, or working behind the scenes to make your stay on the island remarkable, Alain can be found around the island improving upon and rebuilding existing infrastructure or, on the beach playing with two of our island resident canines Ace and Ginger.
When you catch Alain at the bar after your long day of snorkeling, diving, fishing or sun bathing adventures he loves to talk about traveling and exploring the beauty of Belize and Central America. His passion for science and history makes Alain your go-to guy for learning more about the resort and surrounding waters.
Alain’s number one piece of advice for first-time guests is to know and understand you’ll be traveling to a remote island paradise 35-miles off the mainland and to embrace the fact you’re going to be disconnected from the outside world during your stay. “View your stay with us as a chance to leave all the stress of the real world behind and truly disconnect and recharge your batteries in the Belizean sun.”
