Elbow

Barrier Reef Flats FishingThe Elbow is one of the richest dive sites in Belize. Only 5 minutes from our Island and also our most popular dive site, it is located on the southern tip of the Turneffe Atoll. This is where the two sides, the east side and the west side of the atoll come together in a point. Currents collide here, which bring a generous supply of nutrients providing food for the smaller organisms and in turn attract larger fish. The topography represents and underwater mountain range, with a steep wall on the east side starting at 60ft, and leveling off at around 1000ft. Deep water gorgonians are plentiful, with many other colorful corals and sponges. But the main attraction here is the amount of fish. Huge snappers gather here in hundreds to spawn during full moons, although they can be seen any time of year. Permits, jacks, mackerel, spadefish, eagle rays, moray eels, turtles and sharks can all be seen here. You never know what might be lurking in the depths!

*All dives are weather permitting and pricing is subject to change. All prices are USD and subject to applicable taxes. No refunds are given for unused portions of packages and no substitutions can be made between packages.  Any cost associated with an evacuation or dive chamber is solely at the cost of the guest.
