Scuba diving at Turneffe Island Resort in Belize is a unique experience! As a private island resort we offer the best diving and most luxurious accommodations in the Western Caribbean. We are proud to offer access to over 70 dive sites within minutes of our island, including the world famous Elbow.
Our exclusive dive program consists of 15 dives a week – 2 on Sunday, Monday and Friday, 3 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Usually the first dive is at 8.15 am, the second around 10:30 am and the last dive at 3:00 pm. Most of the dive sites are 5 to 10 minutes from the Resort and we return to the island for all of our surface intervals. We also offer Nitrox for those who are certified. The dive shop has rental equipment for both diving and snorkeling. During the week we schedule a trip to Lighthouse Reef to dive the Blue Hole. We also offer a night dive each week, usually on Thursdays, weather permitting. Our dive staff will inform you of the schedule for the week and will be happy to answer any additional questions you may have. If you are a non-diver who enjoys snorkeling, you may want to consider doing an introduction dive with one of our instructors.
Belize Dive Sites
Turneffe Island Resort is situated on the southern tip of Turneffe Atol, and is within a 5 minute boat ride of 27 of Belize's best Scuba Diving, like the famed "Elbow" and the "Sayonara" wreck. While other resorts are a half day away from the "Elbow" you will have the convenience of diving it several times during the week, increasing your chances of seeing anything from Hammerhead Sharks to Giant Eagle Rays and century old Loggerhead Turtles.
Enjoy our custom full day trip on Tuesdays to dive the impressive Blue Hole, spectacular reefs of Half Moon Caye and Long Caye. Then, off for a visit to the Lighthouse Reef Atoll for some land time and lunch. Our 7-Night dive package includes 15 dives with one night dive (Regularly Scheduled for Thursday nights)
Our professional dive staff will spoil you with our signature Valet Service – We ask you to set up your own gear for the first dive. From there, we manage your equipment while you relax between dives. Just step into the boat and moments later you’ll be drifting along the sheer blue walls of the atoll. You’ll be amazed by the variety of marine life and coral along the remote reefs. Certified dive-masters point out abundant sea life including turtles, eagle rays, giant grouper, nurse and reef sharks.
PADI Scuba Certification
We offer several levels of PADI Scuba certification courses including Nitrox and Underwater Digital Photography courses. A full line of dive equipment is available for rental should you need it.
