Fishing. Oh, the fishing. Turneffe Island Resort in Belize is rated as one of the top fly fishing destinations in the world. We have world class fishing flats (Grande, Deadman’s, Monkey Man and Bokal Flats) located 5 to 20 minutes away, where you can stalk bonefish and permit in the crystal clear tropical waters of the eastern Caribbean. In our surrounding creeks (Blue, Back Brook, Small Joe’s Hole, Big Joe’s Hole, Tarpon, Deadman’s and South Cut Creeks) you will find some of the largest tarpon weighing in around 200 pounds! Snook and permits can also be found in the creeks, especially at night. The Elbow also entertains deep water fly fishing where large schools of permit are residents of the Caribbean Sea, weighing between 15 and 45 lbs. Other fish such as jacks, snapper and mackerel also patrol waters near the Elbow.
There is NO FISHING from the island at any time.
